I wanted to see what the future holds for me
To see in advance what’s waiting in store for me
And now that I want to, the hour has come
I will pierce the locked gateways of time one by one

At age 42 I come down with a fever
I think it’s a cold or a flu but it’s neither
It turns out to be simple alien possession
They’ll use my own body to cause insurrection

So civilization as we know it falls
And America thinks I’m to blame for it all
And I’d like to hope that this event was the worst
But as I later found out it’s only the first

At age 47 my left arm falls off
It just falls on the floor after violently coughing
The doctors don’t bother to attempt reattachment
They just grab my right arm and then re-enact it

I’m armless and hairless and lonely and cold
And it’s still going to get worse than this, so I’m told
In a year I’ll be toothless, a coma then after
And then locusts eat out my tongue, those rat bastards

I wish that I’d never discovered my future
I wish that I’d stayed ignorant I was happier
Can I turn back the clock can I make myself dumber?
As carefree and stressless as I was last summer?

No I cannot I cannot make those changes
No matter how much the future rearranges
My future is horrible my death is clear
And all I can do is sit worrying here
